What should I do if I hold an active France visa on my old passport?

If you have an active France visa in your old passport, you must email the France Embassy for clarification. You may still use the old passport with the active visa until its expiry if the embassy validates it in their response.

When can I apply for a France visa?

You can apply for a France visa as early as 6 months before your planned travel date, but not later than 15 days before your trip.

Can I provide an ITR for just two years instead of three?

While the preferred documentation is an Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last three years, you may provide the ITR for the last two years if necessary.

As of November 2, 2015, all Schengen visa applicants are required to submit biometric data (fingerprints, palm prints, live photos) in person. This can be done at the designated Visa Facilitation Center (VFC) or, in some cases, at the consulate or embassy of the destination country.

Do I need confirmed tickets and bookings before applying for a visa?
